Partners in Progress: Supporting the Educational Success of Armed Forces Children
Following the successful launch of the South East Service Children’s Progression (SCiP) Alliance Hub last year, we’re excited to announce the next step in this important journey. Partners in Progress: Working Together for the Educational Success of Armed Forces Children is a one-day event dedicated to empowering schools, colleges, and universities to better support service children in education.
Taking place on Friday 2nd May at Canterbury Christ Church University, the event will bring together educators, professionals, and organisations from across the region. Whether your school or college has a large number of service children or just a few, this event offers valuable insights and practical strategies to help every child thrive.
What to Expect
The day will focus on understanding and addressing the unique challenges faced by children from armed forces families. Highlights include:
- Informative sessions exploring the barriers service children often encounter in their education journey
- Personal stories and insights shared directly by armed forces families
- Opportunities to learn from other schools about how they are using the Service Pupil Premium effectively
- A chance to collaborate and network with schools, colleges, universities, and not-for-profit organisations to strengthen support networks
