KMPF is proud to launch a new series of free literacy CPD sessions for partner schools and colleges in partnership with the National Literacy Trust.
The programme is designed to improve literacy across all secondary subjects, supporting KMPF’s commitment to raising attainment through stronger literacy skills.
The CPD is open to Curriculum leaders, Subject teachers, Literacy leaders, Librarians, Higher-level teaching assistants, and teaching assistants.
On Thursday, January 16, 2025, from 3:45 PM to 4:45 PM, the first session titled “What is Disciplinary Literacy?” will introduce the concept of disciplinary literacy. This session will provide practical strategies to improve reading, writing, and communication skills in specific subjects.
The second session, on Tuesday, February 25, 2025, from 3.45 pm – 4.45 PM, is titled”Building Vocabulary in the Secondary Curriculum” and will explore the role of academic language, focusing on teaching vocabulary across different tiers and subjects.
All sessions will be held online via MS Teams.
