About the activity

The Succeed Programme is designed to help Level 3 students consider their options when finishing their Level 3 studies and consider whether university is the right pathway for them. It is a 6-month programme which is supported by a team of staff and ambassadors to provide information and guidance in an inclusive and friendly environment which allows students the opportunity to feel comfortable in a university setting.

The programme is designed to allow students to explore essential questions about themselves and university in order to make an informed decision about whether or not university is the right pathway for them. As well as gaining vital information which may help them make pivotal decisions surrounding choosing courses and universities, the programme will provide support and guidance about their options, whether students choose to apply to university or not.

Students will begin by focusing on themselves and the options presented to them. They will consider what they want to achieve, who they are as a person and how this could influence the options they may want to pursue. They will then be introduced to a variety of options they may have when finishing their Level 3 qualifications, allowing them the space to consider the advantages and disadvantages of each option. Students will move on to consider the different reasons why somebody may choose to go to university, which will include speaking with a range of different people about their experiences of Higher Education. This will include postgraduates, recent Kent graduates and employers. After this, students will begin to understand more about what it is like to study at university and explore the opportunities available which contribute to the student experience.

The programme consists of three online workshops, four Saturdays and one three-night residential on the University of Kent Canterbury campus. The activities will take place between February and July 2022. Students can apply online via our website.

Applications will open on 1st November and close on 23rd January.
