KaMCOP Programme

Kent and Medway Collaborative Outreach Programme (KaMCOP)

The Kent and Medway Collaborative Outreach Programme (KaMCOP) is a partnership between the University of Kent, Canterbury Christ Church University, the University for the Creative Arts, Kent County Council, the University of Greenwich, 3 colleges and 49 schools in Kent and Medway that have all come together to deliver targeted outreach across the Kent and Medway region.

KaMCOP aims to inspire young people and adults with the confidence to find a path to higher education that’s right for them. From college and university taster days to real-life projects, we break down barriers and give those who aren’t sure if college or university is for them a new perspective on higher education.

Nationally, this work falls under the banner of the Uni Connect Programme, an Office for Students (OfS)-funded project aimed at promoting social mobility by improving access to higher education for young people from under-represented backgrounds.

What’s on offer?

Through KaMCOP, our university and college partners offer an exciting, free programme of targeted outreach activities including:

  •  Information, advice and guidance talks
  • Subject-specific workshops
  • Confidence, well-being and resilience programmes
  • University visits and experiences
  • Careers and employability sessions

Eligibility criteria

KaMCOP works to engage and realise the aspirations of young people from specific wards in Kent and Medway, where participation in higher education is lower than expected given the GCSE results of the young people who live there.
