About the activity

During this 2 hour activity, students will make their own very basic tiny robot from a simple battery, a toothbrush head and a tiny mobile phone vibrating motor to create their very own Bristle Bot. The students then examine the nature and language we use around robots. For example, does Siri really listen? Why do we assign human characteristics when describing robots or computers? When looking at the definitions of being alive – can we apply these to computers and robots?
